Cinema: Du crépitement sous les néons (2022)

Completed project

During the summer of 2021, Mist welcomed the actors of  “Du crépitement sous les néons”, a movie about a young man from Paris’ suburbs and a young Nigerian girl who is a victim of human trafficking. As part of an immersive training course, the actors were accompanied by 4 members of Mist; they took part in the association’s outreach work in the capital’s prostitution areas and gained an insight into the social difficulties faced by the women they met. They learned Nigerian Pigdin and were able to rehearse their scenes with the Mist members; three of them took part as extras and an active member was a coach on the shoot. This encounter between young people from very different backgrounds enabled each of them to discover the other’s world, raise questions and challenge preconceived ideas.

Released in cinemas on 16 November 2022.

Feedback in episode 5 of season 2 of the True Talk podcast: “Displacing shame”.
